Study Corridor
The I-65 / US 31 Mobility Matters Project study area
consists of two existing roadways, Interstate 65 and US Highway 31,
which run parallel, north-south, to each other through the cities
Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Homewood and Birmingham in Jefferson and Shelby
Counties. Proposed alternatives will also involve Columbiana
Road and Green Springs Highway located parallel to I-65 between US 31
and University Boulevard. I-65 will be studied from
Valleydale Road (CR 17) in Shelby County north to I-20/I-59 in
Jefferson County; a total length of 13 miles.
